Laparoscopy is a a popular minimally invasive surgical technique. It employs small incisions in the abdomen, through which a laparoscope—a thin tube with a lens—is placed to visualize the internal organs. Surgical instruments are also inserted through these openings, allowing the surgeon to perform a range of procedures with improved accuracy.
